BLUE POEMS PRODUCTIONS (Producer of live poetry performances)
Eileen Carole is the founder and director of The Writer’s Corner. As a graphic designer she enables the group to prepare camera-ready art for multiple anthologies showcasing the work of poet members. Eileen Carole has written two poetry books and conceived several anthologies to which Writer’s Corner members have contributed. Her first book, On A Musical Note is a collection of poems inspired by various musicians, songs and genres of music. On the back of each poem is biographical information on the performer or genre. Her second book is If Ever You Have Loved: Then You Know The Joy of Love/The Pain of Love. This explores relationships, celebrating romance and sharing the pain of love gone wrong.
After these solo works, she conceived a number of themed concepts for anthologies. Notable among them was Peace Pages, a poetic response to the tragedy of the September 11th attacks. Artists across the nation spoke the pain of the country and Pisces Publishing joined the outcry with this collection and donated copies of the limited edition anthology to the NYFD, NYPD, Red Cross, New York Port Authority and to Mayor Rudolph Giuliani.
When Russell Simmons’ Def Poetry Jam hit the scene, Eileen Carole produced Creative Juices to give poets an opportunity to be in print on their creative process and the inspiration and drive that causes them to be poets. Another Pisces Publishing title is two books in one, Complexions: Celebrating African Americans combined with Hairstories. Complexions is the thoughtful compilation of poetry on an edgy issue that continues to underscore so much of contemporary discourse...skin color; and Hairstories is a poetic look at the cultural and humorous drama of Black women’s hair care. Eileen Carole’s next anthology project will be Forty Acres: Poets Speak Reparations and poets are currently being sought to contribute to the book.
Pisces Publishing has also created camera-ready art for several poets who wanted to publish their own work. In addition to publishing, performing is also an interest and Eileen Carole has promoted several performances. Her favorite is Women Speak, performed annually in National Women’s Month (March). This program provides a voice for a myriad of concerns that women feel deeply. Her Valentine’s Day show is a collaboration with various performance partners in a similar show. Los Angeles audiences loved Menage A Trois, Duets or Fourplay for insight into meeting, dating, feeling, waiting, crying, forgiving, committing, loving and ecstasy. Performed in August, Hotter Than July is the Blue Poems Productionserotic poetry show.
Sharing her love for words, along with a passion for color, shape and composition, Eileen Carole had a career as a graphic designer (aka Kidogo) for two decades and her parent company is Creative Juices: Words and Images. The images she has a passion for are the collages she creates from 5x7 to 18x24 formats. Never running out of subject matter or color schemes, these custom collages are personalized to a career, hobby, special occasion or theme. The collages are perfect for gifts, corporate retirements or promotions, award programs and family celebrations. Collage samples are shown on the following pages and can also be viewed on www.creativejuices.web.officelive.com

IF EVER YOU HAVE LOVED: Then You Know The Joy of Love/The Pain of Love (92 pgs. $15 or 2 for $25)
Found by Eileen Carole
“I’m lost in you and I don’t want to be found.
I’m somewhere between here and there, joy and ecstasy,
Between happiness and bliss.
I’m just lost in you and taking my time
Finding my way, enjoying my stay.”
Back Float by Eileen Carole
Able to hold my breath
I could come up for air at any time
I felt safe, I turned over
Relaxing in a back float
Swimming in love.”
Sweet Music by Eileen Carole
“Together we make sweet music
Aged and mellow like fine wine
Like a season that knows its time
Like a verse with a rhyme, like a love affair sublime”
Full Circle by Eileen Carole
“Back where I began, I’ve come again,
Full circle, to myself, by myself, alone,
To begin romance again
With a willing partner,
If I again, have the heart to make the journey.”
Winter Wind by Eileen Carole
“A cold front has moved in on us
I didn’t see the clouds coming
Didn’t feel the invading chill
Till it surrounded me
Like a fierce winter wind
From Chicago or the Dakotas”
Ringgg! By Eileen Carole
“Sitting by the telephone, willing it to ring
A face-to-dial-stare that commands action
Suggests by the concentration a ring might ensue
But, the phone is an innocent mechanism,
Just a bystander in the communication scheme between two people.”
COMPLEXIONS: Celebrating African Americans/ HAIRSTORIES (Anthology $15 or 2 for $25)
Shades of Gray by Bridget Gray
“My name is Bridget Gray. But Gray is just a name I inherited
From my mother’s second husband,
A coincidence that I am a mixture between Black and White
And although I treasure every shade in between the two
I’m tired of people asking “What are you? Are you half and half?”
My Fair Friend Debra by Eileen Carole
“My fair friend Debra takes her color seriously
Challenged daily by a shade she didn’t choose
And a face she must present to a darker audience
To gain entre’ to the inner cultural society
That often prejudices its very own”
My History by Valerie Ayres
“I became the proud soul pressed between
Tea and coffee, springtime and rum, witnessing love
I honored my father, the handsome color of plums,
Idolized my mother who stood up to a society which was color blind”
Your Crowning Glory by Eileen Carole
“Wish I could have some glory on my crown
A French Roll, a ponytail before I die
Why must my hair always be short I cry”
Confessions Of A Weave by Sharon Smith-Knight
“I fool even the most critical eye
I command attention as I go by
Even the most skeptical want to try
Who am I? I am a weave!”
My Living Locks by Vivian Majeed
“I got the hook up to my natural look
No more hats, caps or hair emergencies
Wigs, kinks, extensions, hot combs, burns, perms or bonded weaves
My inner beauty has wings”

My love is a fragile song so blow sweetly when you flute me and strum my guitar softly,
When you play my piano, use harmonious chords and when you sing my song,
Let it be more gospel than profane; my love is a fragile song.”
